The Regulatory Wave
Wednesday, 12th of July 2023 marked a significant turning point in the European Union's (EU) ambitious Green Deal initiative. The EU is embarking on a regulatory wave unlike any before, pushing industries towards sustainable growth and eco-friendly practices.
Already, the first ripples have begun to form; the Enhanced Producer Responsibility (EPR) in France now imposes new obligations on producers concerning their products' end-of-life. The horizon, however, holds an even greater tempest. From 2024 onwards, a plethora of new regulations, such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), Eco Design Directive, the broader EPR, Waste Directive, and the novel Digital Product Passport, are slated to come into effect.
